Where to put the FAQ Schema

What FAQ Schema Means

FAQ Schema is a tiny piece of code you add to your website.
It tells Google, “Hey, this page has a list of questions and answers.”

When you add it correctly, Google might show your questions and answers right in the search results under your website link.
That makes your page stand out and can help you get more clicks.

Where to Put FAQ Schema

There are two easy places you (or your web person) can put it:

1. In Your Page Code

Think of it like tucking a note inside your webpage.
You paste the FAQ code into your website’s code — either:

  • At the top of the page (inside the “head” section), or

  • At the very bottom of the page (before it ends).

If you’re not sure how to find that, look in your website settings for something that says “Custom Code,” “Header,” or “Footer.”
That’s usually where you paste it.

2. Use a Plugin or Website Tool

If you use something like WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, or Webflow, you don’t have to touch the code at all.
Just open your SEO plugin (like Yoast, Rank Math, or Schema Pro) — or use an Embed Code block.
Paste your FAQ Schema there, save, and publish your page.

Simple Rules to Follow

  • The questions and answers you mark up must also appear on the page. Don’t hide them just in the code.

  • Use FAQ Schema only on pages that actually answer common questions — like service pages, product pages, or help pages.

  • You can test if your FAQ Schema works using Google’s Rich Results Test or Schema Markup Validator (both are free tools).
